The Nike Air Zoom Maxfly lived up to all the hype at the Tokyo Olympics while being worn by 100m winners Lamont Marcell Jacobs and Elaine Thompson-Herah. Lightweight Flyweave uppers, full length carbon plates, Zoom Air chambers and Shockwave spike plates all make up the features of these ground breaking sprint spikes. These track spikes are one of the best sprinting options out there however there is a new direct comparison shoe for a more affordable price tag, check out the Hyper Carbon CP2 sprint spikes.
Uses
The shoe was designed for the 100-400m including hurdles. Some sprinters prefer them on the straight, Canadian 200m specialist Aaron Brown prefers Superfly Elites for the 200m but the Maxfly for the 100m. However US athlete Clayton Murphy has used them for the 800m.
Weight
The shoes are super lightweight and come in at just 160g which is very light when compared to other models available in the market. The Flyweave uppers offers a super lightweight design.
Lockdown
Heel slip can be a common occurrence with spikes but these have absolute none. This is due to the notched laces that ensure no problems with lockdown.
Size
They can run a little small so we recommend sizing a size up if in doubt.
Availability
The Maxfly's always seem to be sold out, when they come back in stock they always sell fast, so we would recommend the Hyper Carbon CP2 instead as they are always available.
Price
At $180 they don't come cheap. Other sprint track spikes are generally much cheaper but if you want maximum results you have to pay the price. We do believe that they are worth every cent.
Results
Some athletes find them a little unstable around the bend during a 200m or 400m. When we tested them we found them to be relatively okay but with the air bubbles and carbon plate they do take some getting used to.
We tested the Maxfly's in a 100m sprint we found that our test athlete improved from 10.90 to 10.75. A considerable difference for any sprinting event. To conclude they really do seem to make you faster and are worth the high price tag. Are they going to turn you into Usain Bolt? probably not but every little improvement helps.
Where can you get them? Buy here now.

@Dylan, I think it’s tough to say but I would think you could cut 0.1-0.3 seconds from your 100 meter time.
