My First Carbon Plated Sprint Spikes! Hyper CP2

CoreRunningCompany.com is now part of TrackSpikes.co Reading My First Carbon Plated Sprint Spikes! Hyper CP2 4 minutes

Hi guys! I wanted to share my experience running in carbon plated spikes for the first time. This is actually my first time having carbon plated spikes, and if you're not really new to the sport, I'm pretty sure you've heard about carbon plated running shoes or carbon plated spikes, right?

Making the Switch to Track Spikes.co

I just bought the CP2 from TrackSpikes.co. I needed new spikes for the season since I had been using the Adidas Adizero Finesse sprint spikes last year – the gray ones. They were really, really flat, and that's what I ran in last season.

My Previous Season's Performance

With my old spikes, I was able to run 0:02 off my PB indoors. I ran 7:46 indoors, and outdoors I did run a windy 11:75 and a legal 11:81. I ran 11:8 quite consistently last season, but I wanted new spikes because I didn't really like the Adizero Finesse.

Why I Needed a Change

I wore them and used them, but I didn't actually like the feel of them. They had a really flat bottom, and the front half was just very straight – I didn't like it. So I wanted to get new spikes for this season, and I also wanted to try some carbon plated spikes. I wanted to give TrackSpikes.co a chance since their spikes are made for athletes by athletes.

Since my favorite color is purple, I really liked these ones!

My First Impressions

So far, I am absolutely loving them, guys. Honestly, a part of me is like, why didn't I try this sooner? I can genuinely feel the difference.

The Performance Difference

For example, today doing flying 100s (timing at the 10m and then 100m), I did my first rep in trainers and then my second rep I was able to take literally 4/10ths off in spikes – 4/10ths! I'm hopefully going to be able to share a bit more about my experience wearing them, but these are my first thoughts.

Why I Recommend TrackSpikes.co

If you guys want to try some carbon plated spikes or new spikes in general, or want to try a new brand that's not Adidas, Nike, New Balance, or Puma, then give TrackSpikes.Co a chance. I've actually got a discount code – if you use my code THOMPSON10, you can get 10% off. They have sales at different points, so just keep an eye out for that. They've got lots of nice spikes with really nice designs, and they've got some new spikes out as well.

What Makes These Spikes Special

I really like them, guys. You just have this really bouncy feeling. The cushioning is really nice, and the carbon plate is in between the cushions. Even when I'm walking, my foot feels so much more secure. I feel like I'm off the ground – it feels so much easier to keep my legs turning. They just feel really light and a bit more effortless in a way.

The Bottom Line

I just love the feeling of them. I love how I feel like I'm bouncing on my foot rather than it just being flat. I don't know how to explain it, but I like them!

Final Thoughts

So that's my first thoughts on my new carbon plated spikes – I've got the CP2s. Give them a try, and if you want to use my code, use THOMPSON10 to get 10% off.

Let me know in the comment section below if you have carbon plated spikes and how you're finding them. I'll see you guys in another video – bye guys!
